Unit 1 : Identity

what makes my identity? How is my identity different to others? can someone look at my identity and already know who i am? Each others identity can hold different aspects between it , which could explain how a person acts or feels. your identity can come from your parents or your genes , for example eye colours and even the colour of your skin. my identity is a very open minded friendship , which doesnt make me feel shy of talking or making an appereance. My parents tell me i love to explain stories and they are proud because of the way i love writing and creating poems or scripts. this is why i chose drama and production , it can build on my skill but i can also give other people inferences of things im very confident in doing that makes me feel like an exception. in the classes i feel like i have a good set of actors who can work among me very well and get the subject or assignement done without any complications.There are various bits in a play or acting scene that i am introduced into so it helps me be involved more. on the first day when i arrived we done some remembering activities for example knowing each others names. It was medium difficulty because it cant be easy to know some ones name in the first go. We also had a go at movement activities when we had to swap between 1,2,3and if you dont get it in time you are eliminated. i really enjoyed it and it gave me a very good spark with everyone in the classroom. With Rob in the afternoon we had to partner up in twos and choose A & B and act to each other which included dialogue , which helped me and also helped my partner Lee. we also participated in improvisation techniques and tried to make a story from scratch which i believe went very well and put me in a good mood, give me a few nerves at first but aftrr seeing a few already , i told myself that i came here to do acting and show what im about and it succeeded at the end of the day , which im proud of. on the second day we practised scripts within a group of three and four and had a lot of dialogue and acting included. i believe i done very well and so did everyone, i feel like everyone was slowly getting the hang of it. i feel like with me , i would be a great actor or presenter because i persuade myself that i have good English Techniques and also im very tall so it means im easy to spot and it makes an appearance of me as an actor or presenter because its not like you have to pay attention really much. i love talking and my parents have been boasting me about this and i have come to find out they are right. I also love writing poems,stories , and experiences in the past. i rap in my spare time also and im a very sociable person so being shy for me only happens at some terms but i overcome it eventually. i believe the whole class has a potential to succeed in the Acting production and have excellent voices and create a good atmosphere, evryone in the classroom has a different aspect that they bring to the table which add up into a huge success at the end of nthe day. i love my classmates and hope the best for everyone . The teachers try their hardest to lead us on the right path and they do very good jobs and show us a lot of differences between your gestures and voice expressions. Everyone took part in an assignment called Identity , where we talk and show our different identities and persuade others in why we are all different but have certain elements that make us the same. We had to act out to the first years and show what we are really about and to make an appearance of what we can do and improve on in the future. I prefer college as a whole rather than secondary school because the teachers teach way more and are more straight to the point which dont involve confusion and stress. The atmosphere in college and in the classroomn is a very good as well and gives a good insight to a beginner or visitor. i hope i may progress in the future and also shine the light on others to follow their paths that God has for them... One Morning everyone took part in an activity where you had to convince your partner to come off of the chair.Trust me it wasnt easy but everyone had tried their best.There were actually a few moments where I would have taken myself off the chair but the other pair held there composures. The activity didnt take long as I believe everyone was on fire.The whole class also read through the Vinegar Tom Script and were put into different scenes and we was asked to memorize our lines.The Script can be challenging but the way that everyone was on task it just made it easier. We also learned about objectives.Objectives about ourselves, our characters and so on. We started reading and learning about Vinegar Tom, set in the southern states of America, set in 1976. It was a level higher from what we would expect at our Level, but the class were enphusiastic and had good intentions with the play. We all got our parts of dialogue in Vinegar Tom and we were told to memorise and act through the scenes. For instance my objective in Vinegar Tom , playing the character of Jack in scene 2 is to persuadeMy wife(Margery), to buy a large field for harvest.Playing Jack i has a pretty good feeling to itself, you dont have anyone that steps up to you and you are more or less ruthless when it comes to having a simple conversation. My other Role is to more or less Rule everyone in Scene 5 , When I demand something I want it.If your not fast enough i will shout,Scream,demand it from you. There is just no way of hiding from Jack. You can see Jack wants to be the Leader of the estate or farm because he has never been nice to anyone else except Alice , the woman he is in love with behind margery. Margery doesnt knmow the situation as much as Jack does but i think soon she will found out about alice. Alice realises the interest of Jack and doesnt want to actually agree with Jack , whenever he mentions it to her , she feels a bit more uncomfortable. Alice has a friend called Susan , around the same age as Alice so i would say its a perfect match. There are suspicions that Susan could be a witch. As we know everyone has a bad thought about dealing with a witch, which is why people mostly want them drowned and killed. Alice seems to not care for the time being becasue its not for certain, i feel like Alice wants to help susan mostly which is why she coukd be friends with her because she doesnt want to leave a friend behind. She seems to have Susans back in Certain occasions. i was given two scenes(scene 2 & scene 5) to learn which i am happy with because i dont want to be like everyone else, i want to have a bit of a challenge which is why i dont complain when work like this is handed over to me because i know its the better for myself and also lets others see what i am capable of. Thats why im glad i was set this work. Vinegar Tom has given me a very good insight into acting in general. For instance everytime i watch Eastenders or just acting online or on Tv, i understand it more different to the way i used too. i can tell when they are improvising or acting saying the Lines that they were meant to Learn. I feel energised after reading Vinegar Tom that i just sort of feel like i have an obsession with it in a way. There are a few times when its only half the class in the morning as the others are a bit late, but i still enjoy it because my enphusiastic teachers still come up with ideas that can help us in acting whilst we wait on the rest to arrive before we get onto the main topics. In Robs lessons we mostly do improvisation to the class one by one or sometimes in any order. It tests our courage and it is easy to see if a person is engaged into the course. Rob does very good examples of acting, that there are even times Rob is acting when he is himself, its more or less like it comes out by itself,like it lives within him.
