⭕ - Costume designs A costume designers job is to make and prepare clothes for actors to wear during a play or film. The clothes can vary as there may be different scenes the character takes part in , which would mean different clothes for each. For Example , if a scene is based inside a house and its quite chilly in the Christmas time , the designer may have to include a coloured sweater of jumper or even a blanket. Whereas if it set on a sunny day in the park it could mean just adding a pair of Jean's and a summer top. A costume designer can add props to the actual clothing/costume to give it more significance. The clothes given on a character have toY give an insight to audience so they can understand who the character is. Costume designers need to make sure that they daily measure the characters waist or width or size of shoe as they cant get the measurement wrong or everything will be ruined. The designer has to make sure he adds Texture and colour. The costume designer is given a tight budget to spend and has to think hard to make sure it's worth the cost. A clothing designer must have unique things such as leadership skills , brilliant design skills , have a good eye for detail "the ability to work under pressure and to make sure it is submitted in time. Hey just also have good research skills and a creative mind so it helps them find a costume. Clothing designers work alongside the director , sound designer , light designer and other creative personnel. They may also have to combine partners with hair stylists , or make up artists Being a clothing designer is an important job because it is in your hands. If it goes all correct then they have a fantastic job whereas If they have not met expectations then they have failed miserably. The clothing design could be a hand drawn design , a painted design or a collage. Becoming a costume designer can be a great experience as some even called up to participate in Disney and universal films. Taking up the role means you have to be able to story tell to yourself to be able to understand it perfectly.They can also be joined by an Assistant who can help them break down parts of a script and help choose costumes for the certain part. They also research costume styles, designs and construction methods using the internet or other sources. They help count and estimate costs of staff and resources that may be involved whilst buying costumes, accessories and fabrics.  They may also be the head of costuming the supporting artists under the guidance of the costume designer. Costume designers typically start as costume trainees or runners and work towards their promotion. Some have experience working with costumers and others come from places such as theatres or the dressmaking department. Having these background run ups also help you to maintain your spot and rise to he next level.
