Unit 5/6/7 Scriptwriting

Context

We were set work which was to individually write our own scripts.

This term we did a scriptwriting unit.

Being in any term, including a few characters to take part which would entertain the audience with a few of the dialogues.

Research

Write down all the exercises that: free writing

Shenagh set up a excercise of ' free writing ' which let us write about an experience or anything on our mind that we would want to share through speech. ,it helped because we could express ourselves through writing and that to me is a very good skill. Myself personally , I used Rhythming words to give a flow of the short speech.

What makes you angry?

We were also told to write about things in life that we find upsetting or stressful.

' Walking down an aisle , minding your business , grabbing sweets something on your minds wishlist , go to the drinks get a large bottle of liquid , Go to the till and pay , waiting for the picnic , walking out the store security stops its like hes addictive , searching ur pockets, u feel like u wanna fist him , i remember in my head the football game that I was trynna listen ,The one and only Cristiano Ronaldo just dinked him , i grow up fast , and a height of ambiton looking around trynna see people's mission.

We also read out a Monologue by Arinze Kene of  spoken word which conveys personal experiences and interests and writers use a distinct knowledge of 'poetic’ language.

We also created a scene with 2 characters, it could be anywhere and anytime , so it was good for our imagination. The plot was yo involve a theft of a bike and an argument towards the middle before a resolution at the end.

It took me a few days to get together , I used google to find some evidence on how to start and how to display it into a script. It didnt seem that confusing which helped and to be fair , my cousin who was staying over at the time also helped me run it through a couple times just to change some mistakes. We chose each other for the characters we needed to help perform and when that was all organised we started practising in the morning lessons we would have with shenagh.

Our class would begin at 10am in the morning,
miss would go through some breathing exercises of counting in four breaths and breathing out for four , and each time you increase it. We would also take part in physical activities like jogging around the room or walking at fast paces whilst saying for instants ' a box of broken biscuits' , we would also get into a circle and start dancing to music each time when we go in a circle and choose for what the group to should copy next.
We would then after get along with the work we were set to complete in the unit.
The classes would flow very good because there is a connection between classmates that are very enthusiastic. We  would also stretch along the lines just to get our bodies pumping and active because we have just come in and a lot of us were pretty tired on the Monday or Tuesday morning. We also hummed for a few minutes.

We took part in a mental game which we switched between the lines from 1 , 2 and 3.
If miss says 13
1 and 3 have to swap etc .
The game is good because it helps with your concentration and also helps u practise ur skill of being ready to acknowledge when your cue is in the play.
We also walked around in a circle saying phrases and making noises which helped us evaluate our pitch and make sure that we hear each other.
We also went through the script from the start to the end of scene 4 which helped us communicate and I believe helped us to remember our lines.
Its obviously much better to practise in person than by yourself.
With yourself is not bad but it takes double the effort.
We also went through the blocking techniques so we would be comfortable with it. We also went through crossing out lines that would help cut down the scenes so it wouldnt be too long.

Performance

For my script I chose Kai,Lee,Paige,Isobel,Duana, ellie and O
